Kubotai and striata

Today I picked up three Botia kubotai and one striata, because one was all they had left. They're looking very happy so far in the quarantine tank :D
I wasn't expecting to see much of them for the first few days, but they were doing the loachy dance within five minutes of being put in there, and they've been out and about every time I've checked in on them.
I'll be getting some buddies for the striata soon, but I'll wait a few weeks at least until I'm sure the fish I got today are healthy.

The best group shot I could get

They are wonderful! Loved seeing the dance- and the music really set it off nicely!

May they live long and prosper! 8)

They're pretty adaptable and curious fish. Watch really closely for any signs of Ich or any even possible parasitism. Striatas are probably my favourite loach, as they're just so shy and peaceful. All they want is food and a place to gather. Darios are really good too, and good company for these species.

I hope they are healthy and transition well. You'll love them for years.

Somewhere I found some information, stating that Botia Kubotai is pretty agressive Botia to other species, fishes in the tank. Now, I have no idea and just asking how correct information is that?

nice kubs, they look healthy 8)

ded1 you may have heard that in another topic around the forums. they can be in rare cases, but its usually a single kubotai that is the aggressor i believe. again, rare cases in my opinion.

I think you will find that the striata will bond well with the kubotai. I have found that the behaviors and living requirements of both species are very similar. Good selection of fish! Hope they acclimate well to their new home.

Thanks everyone :D
Everything's looking good so far- I was very happy to see them all with bulging bellies tonight 8) So far the only aggression I've seen is from the striata, which was surprising given that he's a fair bit smaller than the kubs. Nothing serious, just a spot of chasing away from the food. Most of the time they've been hanging out together at the back perfectly happily. I'd say boisterous is a good description for these guys :D
The more I watch these fish the more fascinated I am by them. I'm really looking forward to getting the big tank set up so I can see them in more natural surroundings.
