Neat idea. Years ago, I worked in a workshop where some of the guys used to fly model planes around a pole powered by workshop compressor air. The air went through a grease-gun swivel fitting.
They started it up again and we got into speed.....go figure right. We found the planes went substantially faster if the outlet jet was encased in a tube. It pulled in more air so made the plane go in the opposite direction faster.
Eventually, we almost completely replaced old propeller type aircraft with scratch built jets and we ducted the air through the fuselage encasing the pressurised air outlet. We clocked them at around 70 mph around the pole!!!

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
