Hello everybody,

I am new in this forum and I am very interested in loaches, especially in the genus Misgurnus.

I have done many research on the internet to find out how many Misgurnus species are worldwide existing. But I got no clear results.

I keep M. anguillicaudatus, M. fossilis and M. mizolepis.

In the literature I found another species: M. bipartitus from northern China and Mongolia.

Are there more species ? Does somebody know literature about this genus ?
Does somebody know literature to identify the non-european kinds ?

You would help me very much ! Thanks in advance from Germany,

Frank

Hi,

The easiest way to answer this type of question is to query fishbase, like this.

The info is not always up to date and not always correct, but it gets you started.

Maybe Frank (Bissgurre) would like to share his experiences with M. fossilis with us? Also pictures too, if you have taken any, Frank.
