actually 2. I made a mistake and put 2 dojos in my heavilly planted 35 gallon cube.

I love my hillstreams, would love some dwarf loaches, but these golden dojos are just not going to fit..

Please. I have tried 2 nets, I have tried putting a spare intake tube in to lure them.. I've even left the cover off when I'm there to play "catch"

help me get these guys out without tearing apart my entire tank.

anyone who wants them can have them.

Unfortunatley

Sherry, getting them out of a heavily planted tank may pose a problem, as you've seen.

Do they overstock the tank, or are they too troublesome for the current inhabitants? My first suggestion would be to give them a few days to settle and see what happens.

If you don't like them, then getting them out without taking apart the tank WILL pose a problem. Possibly doable when the weather is changing and they are doing the loachy dance up and down the corners...or you can try a larger net, held to keep them in one area, drop in some of their favorite food into the net, and see if you can pull them out once they go after it...

good luck 8)

"Dojo in a Bottle" That sounds like a song.

Seriouslly though, put some food in a bottle and submerge it. They should find it fairly quickly.

Very cool idea!
Now isn't "Dojo in a Bottle" a song by the Police?

Good luck with the rummey nose! ;( I still have 2 and one blackskirt in the 90 as I simply could not catch them, such is life! I know the last time I ripped my tank apart to catch some diamond tetras for my dad, i caused a massive chem spike and lost 10 loaches, just be careful! :) and let us know how it goes.

DoJo ignored shrimp pellets in a bottle. sigh

anyone in NY who wants to come and catch a loach? they are yours for the taking.

as for dating yourself, well I've been humming.. If I can save Loach in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do.. is to save every loach like a treasure and then, again I can send him to you....

does ANYONE here remember Jim Croce?

Leave the bottle in the tank for a couple days if need be. Give them time to get used to it, and maybe they will become trained to go in there looking for food. You could try different bottles, colored and clear. I'll bet if given time they would consider a nice colored bottle home. But I would keep it in there.

As for Jim Croce, yes, I too listened to him on the radio, but have none of his albums, and I NEVER owned a Police record or CD. I do still call my CDs, albums, even though I have been buying CDs since 1982. Old habits die hard I guess:) In fact my wife corrected me the other day when I said albums. Also I do still have Records, but my record player died decades ago and was never replaced:) I see a poll in our future:)
