Thanks all
I have noticed some rather strange behaviour from the spotties, a couple of times when I have approached the tank one or two spotties will be heading back to the bottom of the tank from the surface which I thought was a little unusual
Tonight I have been watching them and they are actually going to the surface and swimming upside down in amongst the thick raft of duckweed that I have at one end of the river tank
I am thinking of five possible explanations:
1 - There is food trapped in there, but 90% of the time sinking food is fed to them so not sure.
2 - The thick raft of duckweed is home to baby Cherry shrimp
3 - There are lots od baby ramshorn snails in the tank could they be eating those in amongst the duckweed
4 - Actually eating the duckweed
5 - Tonight I saw 5 of the 6 spotties in the duckweed so the only other possibility could be spawning activity

Great pics, MD.

Can you take any of the little ones for me? I'd love to see them.
With regards to the Spotties, this does indeed sound most strange. How many males/females do you have?
