bruises on loach

hi,
i was away for some work and hwen i came back i noticed that my clown loach was bruised badly all over his mouch. i have a 90 gallon tank. what should i do?

What other fish do you have? Use Melafix. The clown may have had scuffles with other loaches but you shouldn't worry too much about it. It is normal for loaches to occasionally scuffle.

hi,
thanks for the prompt reply. i have some banded loaches and quite a few rainbows and tetras....he is abt 2 years old now and a big lad. quite healthy otherwise....i was just concerned abt the bruises.

I would suggest using
scientific names when specifying the loaches as there are too many loaches often with similar common names.

No other clown loaches then?

What type of substrate do you have?
What size is the tank?

i am using river bed sand s substrate.botia dario is the other loach i hav e got.
