The Emperor Botias and Histies finally made it into the 7ft tank today :D

To say that they love the space and flow is an understatement, I have made an attachment for the front of one of the powerheads that directs the flow at the substrate and all 10 love getting into that particular area of flow.

Here is a short video from tonight:

More to come when they have settled in :D

Very nice Mad Duff.

I have a question that has been bugging me.

How high off the substrate do the powerheads have to be? Should they be closer to the surface or to the substrate? Or does it matter?

I have 3 powerheads in that tank and 2 spray bars from 1400 l/h externals, the spray bars are above water level and at each end spraying down the length of the tank. The powerheads are at both ends of the tank, you can see in the video the two powerheads at the bottom end of the tank, these are sat on the bottom with one blowing straight down the tank and mid level and the one next to it blowing down over towards the substrate. At the other end of the tank is a single powerhead equal to both the ones at the other end that is up in the back corner blowing towards the front causing a rotation effect in the water.

Its a bit rough but this is a diagram of the layout to give you some idea:
