The pond I was telling you guys about.

I don't like to disappoint folks so I'll make this short and sweet.

I wanted to document the pond process from the moment I suggested it to my girlfriend. She said she likes the idea and volunteered her pond, which, from my looking at it, needed a good makeover.

When I was setting up my river tank manifold, her chauffer (who is also fish-head) offered to help out since he'd never heard of such a thing before. (he's the bald dude in this picture)

To make the long story short. He liked the idea so much that he went ahead and set up the pond in the span of 2 days.

I went over today and he was cycling it with a few feeder goldfish that are going to feed his snakehead afterwards.

It looks beautiful. I'll post pictures soon. And then again when we release the clowns. Still need to add more substrate and plants as well as some bogwood.

temps range from 28 to 31 degrees celsius. I'm 6' flat and I can lie down in the pond and you can put another me in there and I won't be able to touch my head with my toes.

so, more than 12 feet long, 5 feet wide, and I think a foot & 1/2 deep.

Looking forward to seeing the pics, Rocco. I dream of one day setting up an indoor tropical pond for my clowns.

That would be fun. I always envisioned that my dream house would have an indoor body of water. Back when I was studying architecture it was a swimming pool but now I'd like it to be as natural a river-pond as possible, semi-indoor, with the outdoor parts lined with indian almond trees. With a rainwater collector that runs into a filter before depositing its collections into the river.

Give me a few years to get rich.

Thats sounds like a good idea but what about the ph of the rainwater, isnt it going to be really low and have no dissolved minerals at all?

You have to realize clown loaches hail from our neighboring countries so the water will definitely have low pH which a lot of clown loaches are often to known thrive for.

12' by 5' by 18" high = 673 gallons or 2548 liters. That's a very nice size pond.

I can't wait to see more pics.

Correction. Its 2 feet deep.

Bit swamped with stuff to do that isn't related to aquariums. Soon as I'm free, my tanks are overdue for a water change, and then after that I'll take your pics.

We're going to fill it with as many oddly marked clown loaches as we can find :D
