Yesterday I got two new G. flavatras after a waiting period 8 months. I have no possibilty for quarantine at the moment, but I think it is done before shipping. Also haven't had any problems with this supplier earlier. *KNOCK KNOCK*. They were very pale after long travel in the dark, sizes 6cm and 6,5cm.
The two first hid under some rocks. I had turned of 2 tubes so the lighting wasn't so bright. But after an hour or so they started moving around. Don't know if fish can feel happiness but the Panda I had from before surely did act like it was very happy. Especially towards one of the newcomers, they all moved in a group but it seemed to shadow one of them rubbing against it gently. Looked like he introduced the place to them

Any idea of the sexing of these, can't remember I have read it anywhere?
Will add pics later.

Congratulations
They are wonderful mateys and of course they sense a lot

I bought mine because they would come to me right away after "calling them" at the store, the sales lady was "impressed"
They are also the ones with the best orientation skills amongst all my fish (remembering way in and out of "tricky" places like connected tanks) together with
Ancistrus.
When I moved my tigers to the main system, I observed how "outgoing" their behavior became, they appeared very much happier than in the q-tank. I learned I need a much bigger q-tank. I am sure fish sense "something".

Lovely fish!
I just returned from Seattle and "the fish store" had quite few of these at $27.95 in case anyone in the area is in the market. A bit steep for me at the moment but I'm giving it some serious thought!

I have two and love them. Yours are beautiful, what are you feeding them?
Frank carries them, and they are much cheaper, though you would pay shipping.

They price seems to be the same here as in Seattle. A bit steep but ultimately this is a cheap hobby (that's what I'm telling myself and rest of the family:)).
These seem to eat anything that hits the bottom, shrimp pellets, algae waffers and other. And then cucumber and squash are the vegetables I've tried.

I think I have a pair, they seem to like each other, and are somewhat different{color/size/shape} I have been feeding mine Hikari algae wafers, carnivorous sinking pellets, live grindal worms, flake, small newlife pellets, frozen Hikari bloodworms, organic zucchini & melon. Thanks for the info, and good luck with yours. Frank did tell me they will come up to you for food eventually. The larger one does not seem to move much when I am in the tank, but hasn't actually come up to me. The smaller one is skiddish. I paid $12. each for mine.

The sand is from the hardware store, meant for sandblasting.

I shot this video this evening, don't know whats going on but it seemed like lots of fun. All three Garras circling around the filter. Took small pauses and went on again, round and round. Went on for a long time.
You might want to tilt you're head to the left while watching, sorry for that and the reflections of the staircase.
After seeing this I've realised how lonely the 1st Garra has felt, this is a very social fish.

Lovely fish! The colors are so much better than the few I've seen in person.

The behavior thats going on in the video clip is still going on. Thats almost all they do, swim around the filter. And it does make me concerned that something is wrong. Should i be concerned about this manic behavior?
