Looking for input on feeding worms (that I can culture) to my big loaches.
Which of the following are the largest?
microworm
bananaworm
walterworm
white worm
grindal worm
Did I leave any out? Anyone raise any of these? I know a lot of these are cultured for fry. Any info would be appreciated.
TIA,

Go for California Blackworms. They are larger, not for really small fry.
I also collect earthworms from my garden for all the tanks. Larger worms for the larger fish, the smallest I can find for the medium sized fish.

blackworms are too expensive. And, not very easy to cultivate. Or so I have been told.

I just got some red wigglers & white worms from a friend to culture. The white worms are about 1/2 inch long or so, smaller than hikari frozen bloodworms. The red wigglers, 1 1/2 inches or so. She grows them in potting soil & feeds veg to the wigglers & bread with yogurt to the whiteworms once or twice a week.
This will be my first time culturing worms so I won't know for a few months how well they do for me. I'll be keeping them in a cool basement & see what happens.

Thank you, Nancy, for the information. I guess I will also try the white worms. Going to order them from Aquabid. Will keep you posted.
