The title gives it away, but would a 25 watt heater be ok for a 2 gallon betta tank? I had my male betta in a 55gallon but it kept bothering and stressing my swordtails (thought it was another betta :) ) so i moved him to a 2 gallon without a heater. He really scared me when i saw him lying on his side, he doesnt move much in there. Hes been in warm water for a couple years, so its a big change for him. I would like to get the old grump's tank into a warmer envirement (using a 25 watt heater?)

Would it be too much heat? I dont have a heater inside the tank yet, and I would like to get one as soon as possible.

Thank you,

kelly

I assume US gallon? So 7-8 litre? Then a 25w heater is fine. I have a 25w in a 12litre temperate tank.

Yes, that is good. the rule is usually 5 watts per gallon, but it is always good to be over that amount by a bit.
