Hello everyone,
What is the safest ich treatment for dwarf chain loaches? I have had an ich explosion in my tank with in the past 24 hours and it has wiped out almost all of my kuhli loaches, a few of my rummy nose tetras, and my older black neons. I have read the sticky and will start that soon, but am concerened about my sids. Any advise is greatly appreciated as always,
thank you,
Joe Kuhl

Ich treatment for Sids,
Kuhli Loaches are like Pringles... you can't have just one!
Couple of ideas, rather than a single treatment:
Ultra Violet Sterilizer
Separate the various fish species that can handle different meds and treat each group with whatever they can handle best (salt, Rid Ich, other)
Lots of gravel vacs no matter which med you choose. As the Ich trophonts fall off the fish and land on the floor of the tank to reproduce you can remove a lot of them with gravel vacs.
Add meds (or salt) slowly by diluting it with some water before adding it to the tank, and then spreading it out over the course of the day.
If you are using Rid Ich, then I would dose 1/4 dose in the AM, and 1/4 dose in the PM. Total dose is only 1/2 of the maximum on the label. (It might already be labeled for sensitive fish; use that much).

38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.
Happy fish keeping!
