sorry for the crappy picture - you can sort of see a white place on one of my new girl's snout. its very slightly pink at the edge in places. other than that, they are in pretty good condition considering the old owners didnt like them very much. i am not sure how good the water quality was in her old home, but she was living with 4 synodontis, 3 other yoyos and some tetras - and they had problems with the loaches and syndos killing the tetras. she is now in Q with the other female.

other than plenty of small water changes, and reducing the TDS from concrete to suitably soft water, is there anything you can suggest to treat her with?

they will be wormed before they go in the main tank, but i'd like to make sure her snout is OK first, as in no way are they thin!

I've used Melafix a few times to help heal up wounds. It should help, but it should heal up on it own with good quality water though.

It looks pretty clean. Do you not think it has improved since you brought her home?

Could it be a minor scrape? Does it look like a clean scoop off the surface of the fish?

If it looks like a patch on the surface of the fish it might be Flavobacteria columnaris, and very clean water and antibiotics will help.
