Egg Binding -- How do I prevent this?

Post by starsplitter7 » Wed Sep 23, 2009 7:43 am

I am so tired of losing my female fish to egg binding. What can I do to prevent this, help them expell the eggs, . . .?

I had a beautiful, healthy, large, fiesty, greedy, wonderful female killie for a year now. She got egg bond yesterday, breathing hard, . . . I came home from work and she was dead.

I have lost my beloved and hard to find female Bristlenose to egg binding.

Do they need special food, special water, please help me fix this problem.

I am so very sorry to read this, wish so much that I could help, but unfortunately I know nothing about fish breeding.

I am not purposely breeding them. They are doing this on their own. :)
