Several months ago when we first moved into our house, my 38 gallon tank was a temporary (2 weeks?) house for the loaches and rainbows until I got the other tanks setup.

I got up one morning and shot this video of the tank - I hope you enjoy!

Oh yes - please excuse the police scanner audio in the backround :-D

Clowns-6 is a group and more is never too many, providing the aquarium is large enough.

I love that the Upside Down Catfish and Cories school with the Clowns. So much fun. :)

What Rainbows are they ? Im thinking of putting some with some Kuhlis. Great vids btw. :D

The ones in that video are Australian Rainbows (Melanotaenia sp.)

and Turquoise Rainbows (Melanotaenia lacustris)

The most interesting thing about the Turquoise is how their color is CONSTANTLY changing! My wife and I watched them for about 30 minutes one day and could literally see their colors morphing right before our eyes on different bands of their body! It's amazing to watch!

But! There's always a but on here.............. Why are you keeping weather loaches in with Clowns?

They are now in a seperate tank.. That video is several months old..

Ok here's a PRIME example of how the turquoise colors change.

This next photo was done during the same shoot, same lighting, same camera.

Only re-touching was removing some specks from the glass - no color alterations or enhancements. Compare to the photo above!

The Melanotaenia lacustris are just gorgeous. Id love them to be a part of my community tank with my Kuhlis but i read somewhere that they need a 4 foot tank and fairly hard water ? My tank is only about 80Wx50Hx36L cms. If its no to the Lacustris then maybe some Praecox or Threadfins.
