Am I just paranoid?
I have had 5 clown loaches for about a year now and they were never afraid to come out of hiding, especially to eat. Lately, they seem to not be out nearly as much and don't feed as ferociously. When all the lights are out they come out more, is this just normal?

What tank size are they in?
There are many variables that could affect their behavior. The loach gurus here could give you a better answer..
In my case, just last week, I decided to treat the whole tank for internal parasites... My loaches were not very active and were hiding like yours even at night.
But now I get to see them swimming around. I'm happy.

Welcome to LOL and Happy Holidays (if that applies
).
Have you tested the water lately? Added anything new? Doing anything different?

Add a pump like a Fluval 4S above the water to spray and aggitate the surface to really increase your O2 levels in your tank. Your probably too calm now in your tank and the fish are growing everyday and you are not improving yer filtration and flow with them......They need way more than you think. Make sure the gravel or sand is clean and the hidey hole they use has flow and is not full of waste, you could probably increase your water change schedule also ....post a pic of your tank and some filter and water info for additional input.
