looking for gareth....

Post by barbara » Wed Dec 19, 2007 10:46 am

are you here Gareth? I just tried the last link that I had for you and it doesn't work. Anyone else know Gareth's email (which I don't have).

This regards a promise I made him for use of his material in the loach book.

thanks anyone who can give help on locating him. (i did look through members section and didn't seem to find him there).

Oddly enough, Barbara, I've been thinking about him recently, too. Don't have any info for you, however.

oh thank you so much!! : ) the few times i've checked in, and they have been FEW, it's been so nice to see your helpful, thoughtful and experienced responses....hope to see you and everyone else soon (internetedly speaking!)

in fact recently when discussing clowns and tank size with a relative whose son i was hoping might make a home for my loaches i mentioned that my 110 at 5 feet was minimal size for the group of five clowns that i have....i always remember your long clown tank...it seems it is 8' but maybe i've remembered too small....? also, i think sometimes people are shocked when i tell them that my 70G tank has only two fish in it....s. eupterus....i've really grown to appreciate the delights of an understocked tank....and i'm SURE the fish appreciate it too. : ) in fact i think mine appreciate the quietness of this house with no human inhabitants....it's nearly always quiet.

best,
barbara

so have you been gone as long as i have? i do hope to return soon when we get electricity (what a deal!) and, can it be true: wireless internet (yet to be determined) where i actually live. this internet on the fly business doesn't allow much time for more than mundane use and email correspondence.

I have been out of the fish scene for a while, but got right back into it about a year ago. I started with a Goldfish for my girlfriend, and the next thing I knew I was back up to 7 tanks.. lol

Nice to see the "old timers" now and then. Only seven tanks?

Well.... I stopped keeping loaches a while ago because I really got into the planted aquariums and it wasn't a combo that worked out well. My new project is an extension of this and is a fully automated planted 105 gallon.

I have 2 Profilux Aquarium computers controlling CO2 injection, lighting schedules, variable speed wavemaking, temperature, automatic topoff, fertilizing via 4 seperate dosing pumps... all connected to a Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz with an 8" touchscreen LCD monitor for easy control of the profiluxes.

For hardscape I have some pretty cool wood. I have been working with imported Indonesian woods and have access to a great deal of the stuff. I'll be selling it soon online, but thats a little ways off.
