Hmmmm....red eyes seems to indicate albinism, so rather than "species" maybe it should say "form" or something along those lines. At that size in a "mountain stream" I would hazard a guess at an albino or certainly golden colour morph of a Leptobotia or Sinobotia species.

Pure guesswork without a picture.

I agree, most likely a Leptobotia of some sort. Sinibotia tend to be found in southern China...interesting...wish there was a photo...
