River Tank Pics

Post by Slough Shark » Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:47 pm

Here are some new pics (taken in the new year) of the inhabitants of my only river tank tank. I'll post a FTS soon, but right now the tank is still full of tannins and it's very irritating...

New Glass Cats (I bought 5), unfortunately I think these guys are K. bicirrhis, so I'll probably sell them soon

Good old leaf fish, has an infection ATM and is starving himself- these could be his last pics...

And now for the stars of the tank- the loaches

...a bunch more...

Heres the other Misgurnis anguillicaudatus (though I originally thought it was a M. mizolepis), I think it is cool because it has a much different colouration from the other, this one's sort of "Olive"

My best pic of a loach... EVER

And the crazy guys of the tank... (and I'll tell you, it's very tough to capture these guys yawning!)

I guess thats it and it was alot of editing too!! I plan to move the Misgurnis in with the leaffish in my 20 gallon for a different asian biotope (I'm thinking Mekong- Vietnam, but it's pretty open at this point as the Leaffish and Loaches I have now occur in many areas together).

Enjoy, I know I sure do!!

They really are photogenic, I have more pics of them than any other of my fishes. I like them because they certainly aren't shy and they aren't always moving.

Thanks for the compliment,
Taylor

Really nice pics 8) Beautiful tank!

I think those are definitely K. bicirrhis- and I'd gladly take them off your hands if I were closer...I only have 2 currently and would love more. They're hard to find around here!

Thanks Kate!

I'm glad I now know what these guys are, I think I'll wait till they get a bit bigger then I'll sell them- they really are nice fish.
