A LFS about half an hour's drive from me was having a sale and I picked up these little guys.....

And these little guys....

The one on the right has no middle stripe and it makes him look like an orange skunk loach.

What species of pangio did you get?

They are a mixture of P. myersi and what appear to be P. semicincta. There could be some P. cuenovirgata, but only time will tell. If they grow big they're semicincta.

Neither me or the guy at the LFS had any idea how many were in the bag when he went to ring them up. It was only after taking the photo above that I was able to count them. I paid for 18 of them but it turns out there were 25 in the bag. After doing time in the Q-tank they will go into the 150g show and true to their kuhli nature will rarely be seen again.

Wow.. I don't think I have ever seen them that small from a store. Those are really neat.

I know the ones around here won't sell tham that young. Not sure why.

Here's the little guy with the "skunk" markings and one of his pals. It's really hard to get pictures of these baby clowns, they are so skitish!

Robin, your new ones are quite amazing! Beautiful.

I picked up three Kuhlies yesterday that are about 1.5 inches. Very cute and in my grow out tank. They have really cool markings. Like black triangles down their backs. I bet they aren't 3 mm in diameter. I have high hopes for them.

I'm from new york too. New to the loach scene and fish tanks in general. Always looking for new stores to explore. Where was the store you went to? I'm on long island and willing to travel to a store if its worth it.

It was Aquarium Adventure on Glen Cove Rd. near Mineola.

So far out of the 25 I brought home I've lost the 5 biggest Kuhlis. For some reason the little ones seemed to have fared better. All 9 of the baby Clowns are still with me and no one in the Q-tank has come down with ich. Something very unusual in my experience.

The guy at the store told me that all the shipments come in with copper in their water and he runs a little bit of salt in all the FW tanks.
