We'll have it cleared up by tomorrow
:?

And this is the manager of the fish department???

At least a month in quarantine is the minimum. Complete quarantine- no sharing of tools, equipment, or transferring anything between tanks. Wash hands between handling tanks.

For extra precaution after the first month add an 'expendable' fish from your tanks to the quarantine tank and watch both fish for another month. The fish from the store might have brought something home that he is resistant to, and not showing signs, but also, your fish might not show symptoms but be carriers of something the new fish is not resistant to. (Is that confusing?)
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

i just got over a case of ich last month from a similar situation. Rid ich would not work for me but i partly blame how crowed my tank was at the time although i have heard of some resistant ich strains. i dosed for 2 weeks going to twice a day after the first week. eventually after no signs of improvement , in desperation i switched to a UV sterilzer and ran that for 2 weeks along with extra airstones and a temperature raised to 84. i didnt loose any fish but it nearly lost my sanity. i sympathize with your situation. good luck.
