Hillstream fight

Post by Munkee » Tue Jun 03, 2008 2:22 pm

Here a few photos I managed to capture today of a Hillstream Fight over rock territory. Sorry for the poor quality, but they were swarming eachother and it was hard to get a clear shot.

Honestly I though the other one was going to win this one.

Nice fish!
Did you notice the heart shaped spot on the ctenocephalus?

Fab pics, Munkee. :D I was actually trying to photograph a hilly scuffle in one of the stock tanks this evening but had no luck - we have a load of really beautiful G. scitulus in at the moment and they are constantly displaying to one another. But the moment I go near with the camera, they close up all the fins and look very camoflaged. So well done for capturing this sequence!

Jim I did not notice that until you just mentioned it! Funny how I see them everyday I never noticed that heart shaped spot before.

Emma
, this was tough to shoot for sure. I just set the camera to rapid and did not let go of the shutter. I probably too close to 75 pics ina row and these turned out. The rest were a blur. Luck I guess.

Thanks everyone for the nice words. I just love these little guys. They are so entertaining. :D
