Hi all,
I am also hoping to pick up 6-7 V. maassi which I have been looking for for years now to no avail when I go to look at the Orchid Botias sometime in the next couple days. Do these guys eat anything else but bloodworms?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Try them on the really small frozen foods - a mixture of baby brineshrimp, cyclops & daphnia normally gets them interested. I also had to use some of the finely powdered dry food (normally used for rearing fry) to get ours interested in eating originally. Small sinking catfish pellets that break up into fine pieces are normally nibbled at too. I also find that mine prefer to feed in the dark or at least in very shady spots.
Good luck, I hope you manage to get some,
Emma

Thanks Emma,
Yea I am really hoping for some. I rearranged my 80 gallon today to create more shady spots and caves and such. Some plants as well. I am probably gonna go down there tomorrow and get a good number of them as the shop is selling them for a very fair price. (hopefully 6-7 of these guys)
Also they said they have Crimson Loaches. These are the Schistura sp. Crimson correct? Do these guys eat bloodworms as well?
