Budding Aqua Photographer - but how to post photos?
I have finally managed to get some half-decent photos of my fish, (I have to sneak over to the tank on hands and knees in the vain hope the cunning devils won't spot me...) but I have no idea how to get them into a post.
I have searched for this information, I know it must be on the forum somewhere if I had a brain ... but I can't find it...
Has anyone done an article about photographing fish - what type of camera is best, do you need other equipment such as a tripod, how best to set about it, etc? That would certainly help me. My camera is fine in good light if the subject stays still, but Clowns don't usually fall into that category!
Please help!
Cheers,
Mark

i cant help you re the photography - i wish i could!
to post a photo, you need to register with a photo site. i use photobucket.com. once you have registered, save your photos on your computer somewhere you remeber. in photobucket, click on the box to upload photos, and browse to find the photo file name where you had saved it. there are several options on uploading photos, but i think you can highlight several photos at once, then it will upload them all at once. when thats done, they will appear on the screen. there might be a few options you can choose during this process (it was nice and simple, then they changed the process slightly, i am less familiar with it still). when the pictures have appeared, click on the image code (it will say "copied")
on here, click where you want tthe picture to go, then press ctrl + v to copy the link. the photo should then appear here. at first, choose preview before you post, just to check its worked.
i hope this makes sense! it is simple, honest.

Hi Mark,
Yes, many of us use Photobucket as it is free and pretty straightforward to use.
A while back, I was badgering one of LOL's budding photographers to create a general aquarium photography article for us, but I don't think he is going to do it.
This old thread might be of some help (scroll down to 4th post): http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=9435

Thanks
Thanks very much for the help, Helen, Newshound and Emma.
I have now joined Photobucket, and have started to upload my photos - nothing special, but I know how much I enjoy seeing other people's, so i'd like to post them.
I haven't got a good camera since dropping mine in a river last summer (they don't seem to appreciate swimming!) but I have a feeling you need a pretty good one to catch fairly shy fish which move quickly when disturbed, and who generally come out in low light.
Cheers
