Y. sidthimunki & V. maassi feeding time
As promised, here is a little vid I took last night of my Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki and Vaillantella maassi feeding. Here they can be seen eating the Hikari Sinking Carnivore pellets (broken up) which we've been talking about in a recent thread:

It's a shame a lot of the quality is lost when uploading to YouTube, but I haven't found a better alternative.
Hope you enjoyed it,
Emma

Great video Emma
hat is not a combination that I would have thought would work with the Vaillantella maassi been a shy feeder, do you find that they get bullied off the food by the sids?
I have Pangio's with my sids and they tend to hold their own when it comes to feeding but the Vaillantella maassi may be worth thinking about

Pardon my honesty - I am a Northerner

Thanks MD.
I have been keeping an extra close eye on this tank 'just in case', but in no way are the Sids stopping the Vaillantella from feeding. I have about 20 Vaillantella in there with about 15 Sids. The Vaillantella are getting very deep bodied and chunky.
I have even seen them steal pellets from the Sids mouths, so once you have acclimatised the Vaillantella to a 'captive diet' this combination works very well. I wouldn't, however, recommend mixing them until confident that the Vaillantella are feeding well and are used to the foods.

Cool video!
I would love to see my V. maassi that much. I mostly just get to see the tail of mine. He keeps getting larger though so I know he is eating.

Wow, your maassi are much faster feeders than mine but with the sids they have to be. Mine are sort of slow stalkers unless a pangio or other maassi tries to get there first, then the alpha bites dorsal fins.
I had to move the other "extrovert" who got beaten up a bit but wouldn't go hide. Mine are not nearly as shy as I expected, well 1 hides a lot of the time. The alpha even comes over to the front sometimes where I sit to tend them. Very cool fish.
