Botia rostrata in Perth

For those WA loachaholics, Aquotix have a bunch of these. I got just two.

don't know what the others think, but i'd take a gamble and buy quite a few more if i was you.
it does ressemble in a roundabout way rostrata but it also has the look of the emperor botia as well.
thats why i'm saying take a gamble.

Its a bit on the skinny side but the colour is exelent , a few good feeds would do the trick

Yeah i tad on the skinny side, some good rounds of Bloodworm's should do the trick over a couple of weeks.

just seen the second pic now that is a deffo rostrata, but if there's anymore like the first pic i'd run out to that shop and buy the lot.

I'm thinking it's just the camera flash with the aquarium lights that make the yellow tinge. Saying that, i've never been to spec-savers either.....

I didn't buy them in person and haven't been to that LFS for a few weeks so I'd be guessing at the answers to all those questions, but I can tell you that they had a whole tank of them labelled as rostrata on their own so it's clear they're not 'contamination'.

Unless there are some Emperors in amongst them :>

They were bought by a friend who thought they looked interesting, looked them up in a book they had in the shop and bought them only because the book said categorically that they have a max size of 7cm.

When I showed him several sources which had them getting to 20cm he offloaded them onto me PDQ, being somewhat allergic to bigger fish. My 7-foot tank already has eight striata and a solitary yoyo so they'll fit right in.
