The new combined tank [PICS]

Post by janma » Sat Nov 01, 2008 6:00 am

Ok here it is. So far so good. Everyone has found own hideouts and its seems there is enough of them and its possible for the fish to go behind the background rock from both ends. The Garra does his "new-tank" jumping, hoping the glass holds. Temp is about 25C. The Sid's are behaving too. The Schistura balteata can now be seen even in daytime, which is nice.

Here are some pics, hope you enjoy them.

Wow, that tank looks amazing. Especially the background. Glad all is going well with the combination.
So many species of fish yet so little time, space and money to keep them all...

What they said!
That background is great!
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

What all is in this tank?
Are the hillstreams able to compete for food?

Thanks for the compliments. The background is Aquarock background, superb in that way that it doesn't float. I like it the natural look in tanks.

There are Gastros (don't know how many), 4 Sewellias (adults), 7 Rosy loaches, 1 Garra flavatra, ~20 Pseudomugils, 13 Sids, 2 S. balteata. Everyone get they're share of the food, dropped at several places. And the hillstreams are the first ones at the dinner table usually. They can always eat some algae for dessert. Also Shrimps and Assassin snails, trying to have some MTS for the sand but the Assassins keep eating them.

I was worried about the combination but so far so good, no aggression shown from anyone, no bite-marks or eye-losses. Only aggression shown is between hillstreams competing for rocks.
