Emma, do you have any updates on this fish?:) My apologies if I miss any updates you have put before. Graeme's Grrr tanks are rubbing on me now.

Hi Blue,

Of the specimens left at the shop (which is still quite a few) some of them have grown quite large, others have hardly grown at all. The bigger ones look very similar to the Syncrossus cf berdmorei seen in Kamphol's pic in the Telling Tigers Apart article: http://www.loaches.com/articles/telling ... ssus-genus

Hi Blue

I think you will find that they are identical with Ataran River S. berdmorei as I don't think they are actually from Laos but Myanmar!!!

:)

Hi,

is there any news about this species? How big have they become, are they still behaving aggressive? Has the species been on the trade this summer at all?
My LFS has three left from the summer of 2007 and I'm thinking of buying them.

Hi Kalevi,

Yes, these fish have been available again this year, and are still being marketed by the supplier as a new species. I have a few specimens left, most have grown well. They now look like S. berdmorei and the aggression is most definitely still there - they really need a 'Grrr' tank (i.e. an aquarium housing fish of the same nasty temperament).

Hope this helps,

Emma
