I'm moving apartments on Sunday.......actually I've been moving stuff for the last week. I have movers coming Sunday morning to get the larger furniture and my fish tanks.

Logistics state that there's no way I can set up a 6 foot tank and the 4 foot River Tank in quick enough time to ensure the safety of the the larger fish.

I asked Harold at The Menagerie if it was possible to house my Clowns and other Botia for a few days till I can get the tank set up again. Yesterday I took them down to the shop and they're now residing in a large tank in the basement there where they won't get disturbed by passers by.

I'll be housing my Hillstreams in a 20 gallon tank at the new apartment with all the River-Tank filters running on it. Priority will be getting the 6-footer set up again and the Clowns moved back in. Then I'll set up the River-Tank again.

LOTS of work!

All the 6-footer decor is currently sitting in plastic totes for moving. Got to remove all the water and sand, River-Tank manifold and some smaller stones today.

BUSY, BUSY.

I'll be off-line for some of Saturday, all of Sunday, but back on some time Monday.

I housed my clowns in a place in Conway when we moved into our present house-shifts a lot of stress knowing you can take your time getting up and running agin while your little fish swim happily around another tank :D

Hope it all goes well Martin. If it is anything like the work I am having to do with my fish after the main tank cracked I don't envy you all that much. If all goes well I should be back up and running on Sunday night.
So many species of fish yet so little time, space and money to keep them all...

Good luck with the move.

I moved last spring and the clowns ended up staying for a short while in my (then empty) four footer until I got their regular home up and running.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

I hope the move goes well for you and all your fish. at least you know they are safe and well cared for with Harold.

you will have to show us pictures when all the tanks are set up again. are you still allowed a tank at the end of the bed?

Allowed? Actually I have chosen to remove fish tanks from the bedroom environment myself. I'm fed up with the sound of gurgling water.

Our second bedroom is being set up as our office. That's where the computer desk and the River-Tank will reside. We moved my girlfriend up 3 floors to the new apartment Sunday through Tuesday and she's been sleeping in that room with a 16" cube tank for company.......and her cat.

That tank will probably be housed in the lounge once we get our new sofas later next week and reposition everything. I'll have to take photos once it's all re-organised.

Everything went well. I set the tank up yesterday and picked the guys up from Harold this afternoon. They are all swimming around happily in their new home.

I took the opportunity while the tank was down to bare bones to screw a lot of the larger driftwood pieces together. It's given a more aesthetic design than the original big pile of driftwood. i then infilled with smaller pieces to create numerous caves and dark shadows.

I'll augment this design with some nice artificial plants as I've given up on real plants with these agent orange, salad-bar nut critters.

I'm glad everything went well. I bet that was quite the chore.
Now that they are settled in, it sure would be nice to see pics of the newly refurbished tanks. ;)
By the way, did you happen to find any little baby hillstreams during the move that you didn't know about?

Still got to set up the River-Tank. No babies found :?

The fish are residing in a bare 20g with the rocks that have Anubias growing on them. All the other decor is sealed up in a plastic tote with the gravel being in a couple of plastic containers. I have the original cannister filters running in the tank.

Got to set it up soon.

Glad to hear that the move went well Martin.

I had not considered screwing wood together to get more aesthetic designs. What kind of screws did you use? Stainless steel? Of course we want pictures.
