Does anyone know of a good place to get them?

All the LFS here say they can't order them, and i've only found one website selling them for $20 each.

Frank's Aquarium has excellent stock and a good reputation.

Sids sell for $12 each or 6/$60. That's the best price I have seen. Definitely go for six.

Compared to what you pay for em at some stores here
$ 15 is still a nice price
one of the lfs' here sells em at EU 13,95 and those examples look rather sickly to me
I was lucky finding another one that has good healthy sidth's at EU 7,50

My LFS sells them for $17 each. Sids don't come cheap. :)

For healthy sids, $15 is not that much to spend.

Perhaps look at the smaller, less expensive loaches if you do not want to spend that much-you will be very lucky to find healthy sids at a cheaper price than that.

I usually see them for $11-$12 around here, never any cheaper.

$16.99 + tax here, and they don't look right to me. Maybe it's because they're always very small but the sids that my LFS gets don't quite look like the pics i see here.

The only place around here that has them sells tiny ones for $20 each. It's kind of a boutique store that really gouges customers. Does anyone know when they're "in season?"

The one I got is so small for $16.99 that I mistake him for a small Oto, which are the fish he choose to hang out with. I will get more Sids when I find them. I was just picking up the last loaches before my LFS closed. He has loaches to hang with, but he spends his time pretending to be an Oto.

Sids are expensive everywere. Your best bet if to find them in a shop that can't get rid of them and make an offer to clear them-it does work :wink:

That's how I got my first six. The manager said they predated him! Got them for $11 each, while most other stores were charging $30. I bought from Frank to increase the group - highly recommended.
