loache in rice farming

Post by sjyoung » Sun Jul 30, 2006 3:40 am

hi,
I have a book titled "The Power of Duck" written by a rice farmer named Takao Furuno. In the book are pictures of loaches which he raises in the rice paddy and harvest them together with the rice.
Would anybody know anthing about this? What kind of loach was he using?

They are most likely the Weather loach, which i would assume he keeps for a delicacy.
