Octozin for "Clowns fish disease" ?????

Post by tender » Tue Dec 16, 2008 9:59 pm

This medication is said to cure "Clowns fish disease".

http://www.plymouthdiscus.co.uk/product ... dfc89058b7

Has anyone tried it?
And what is "Clowns fish disease"?

At the top of the bottle it says "hole in the head". But thats not a very typical Clown disease, is it?

Hi Marius,

I think the Clown Fish Disease that they are referring to is Brooklynella hostilis, which is a marine (saltwater fish) parasite.

I have no experience with this product where loaches are concerned, but I do know that many discus keepers have used it to cure Hole-in-the-Head.

Aaaaahh! I see :)

Funny though; the bottle uses a picture of clowns, so it`s easy to get confused

Yes I agree, it's not the cleverest thing for the manufacturers to have done! They have the clown loaches on most of their range of disease treatments (the ones that can be used in freshwater), probably because the clown loach is eyecatching and easily recognisable. This treatment guide by that same manufacturer even has a picture of a clown loach in the centre! http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/im ... -chart.pdf
