Pictorial Species Search Index Updated.

Post by Martin Thoene » Thu Dec 18, 2008 4:58 pm

This facility had fallen behind the actual species profiles we have on-site. Today I linked everything in so that you can find any species visually if you don't know the name.

First of all, thank you all so much for all the work on this website and this amazing resource. Me and my fish are very grateful. :)

I like the body type species search index, but I always wondered why there isn't an index with pictures of the actual species.

Or in the index with the names, why we need to click on the names to get an image. I know there must be a logical reason why. For example in planetcatfish.com when you put your cursor over a name, the picture comes up. It makes for a much faster search when you are unfamiliar with the fish.

An index with names and pictures would be simple to create....although a lot of work.

I like the sound of pics popping up, but I'm not sure if the software we use supports such functions.

Martin.

I think we discussed this once before and the outcome was that we couldn't do it. Wouldn't hurt to run it by Jeff again just to make sure though.

I have several things to load on to the main site, and some have been waiting a while, so I apologise for not having done so yet. I try to bits here and there when I get the time.
