16cm Vaillantella maassi

I've been able to capture some pictures of this 'long' Vaillantella maassi today. For some reason he was being co-operative and finally decided to show his face. I purchased two of these chaps back in May from Emma's store to accompany my other two. Size in others are from 8cm to 11cm. Here's the Beast!

Thanks. Nobody seems to bother or approach this one. It's safe to say size is a major factor. Others do have little niggles with one-another but they defiantly leave him to his own devices.

Driving 400 miles to pick these up, i hope someone is jealous. :wink: But the main thing is that i'm proud of them.

What an impressive specimen of a very interesting species of fish.
I can't even imagine one of these guys at 16cm.

I think there's the Fork-Tailed Loach name thats becoming popular in the common named world.

Yes, those two I got in for Graeme recently were listed with the common name 'Fork Tailed Loach'. Previously (from a different supplier) I have seen them listed as 'Spiny Eel Loach'. They rarely come up on lists though, and quite often there is a 'waiting list' of clients with many of the suppliers. :wink: They are also very expensive. :shock:

I got mine as Fork Tailed loaches., also. They were only about $7-8 (US) which I thought was reasonable.
