I'll echo that, i suspect a Nikon SLR of some kind given your mention of the R1C1 flash unit in another thread. The R1C1 has been on my wish list ever since i got my macro lens although now that i have a SB-900 the cheaper R1 kit will do the trick.

As Mick will love to say, the camera is the cheep bit when it comes to an SLR setup.

i acually have a underwaterhousing for underwater videography but i never tried yet as the resolution is not the max.

my cam is a Nikon D200 (got is since about 7months...) i use the 105/2.8AF-S VR Macro, a old 105/2.8 AF in combination with a double converter, also a 50mm/1.4 rear mounted on a PB6 from Nikon

Flashes SB23
R1 C1 (Nikon)
sometimes a tripod usually by hand

adjustments are made manually

for example

shuttertimes from 1/160-250
aperatures depending on the flash distance to the object...20up to 45 (NOT automatic TTL

)

i acually am surpriced about the sharpness of the bis ocellatus pic that's far the best on i got from them

Wonderful pictures.

The 3rd picture is enviable in particular.
I like G.ocellatus. However, the acquisition in Japan is difficult.

I was able to count 15 fries of Sewellia.
