Power heads some advise if you would be so kind

Post by onebto » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:53 am

Firstly greetings to you all and I hope this post finds you all well.

To business I have A Juwel trigon 350 which has an internal pump set 1000 with a fluval 405 for additional filtration, Sand substrate some bog wood with lots of hidey wholes and caves for the loaches.

Stocking:

8 clown loaches (all quite young) largest Maggie (well i think she is female) is about 2.5 inches the rest are between 1 and 2 inch.

4 honey gourami, 10 cardinal tetras, 5 Prastilla tetra, 8 Panda cory, 5 glow light tetra and 4 Platys.

Eventually in about 2 years time when we move my intention is to get a long river type tank as I am well aware that 350 litre tank is not ideal for clown loaches especially when they get bigger but for now I want to do everything I can to make life as enjoyable as possible for my fish especially my beloved clowns.

So here is the question the 2 pump systems produce a fare bit of flow round the tank but I am wondering about getting a power head of some description to up the flow in the tank.

Do you think this is a good idea?

Can you recommend a decent power head to me? Preferably one that sticks to glass with suckers.

I look forward to your thoughts in sites and recommendations .

Regards onebto

If the Hydor Koralia product line is available I would recommend looking into this.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

Koralia are rockets. Better aim it in such a way that the gouramis can hide.
