Lazy Beta

Post by Manageddon » Thu May 27, 2010 10:47 am

My Beta seems to be sick.

He is usually a very active fish chasing young fancy guppy but recently all he wants to do is lay on the bottom or on the filter or heater.
Its like his tail is too heavy.
He will come up for food, he will come up for air and he will move if a fish annoys him.

Its a community tank with Guppies, pleckies, algae loaches, corys, neon tetra and widow tetra.

He doesnt appear to have visiable signs of disease.

Have you seen this before and is he sick or just in a broody mood becuase hes has no mate.

Lying on the floor is one sign of constipation, but fish usually do not eat then, also.
I do not know that they can get broody about not having a mate. They do not form any sort of bond with female Bettas.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
