burrowing dojo, normal?
I've noticed that most of my older dojo like to spend most of their time (when the lights on) inside the sand substrate. Usually only leaving a small tip of their mouth outside.
Just wondering if this is normal?

I actually saw this for the first time this weekend after I re-scaped my tank. I took out the 2 small peices of Mopi Wood and replaced it with a HUGE center peice. My Kuhlis and dojo went crazy because there wasnt anywhere to hide. Then all of a sudden I had a couple of Vals floating at the top of the water and looked at here they use to be and noticed the tail of my dojo sticking out of the sand.....He had never done this before. So I am in the process of making a cave for them.

My 1st dojo would hide for months in the gravel. I started calling him Kitty cause I always thought his little head sticking out with just his eyes and whiskers showing looked like a kittens face lol. Anyway after I listened to you guys and got him some mates he rarely if ever hides in the gravel now.
