No pics of the missing pecs; no way that fish was staying still enough.
I deduced that the problem was crowding so as I posted on Loach Forum, I rearranged my (silk) plants, moved the clown cave--pretty much changed it up so that more open space was created.

Good news.
The pecs are beginning to grow back. I've been changing the water frequently. The silver dollars are out more in the open. It's one clown who seems to do the most damage because it's always picking at the silver dollars. But so far this idea has been successful. I think changing up the decorations and moving plants around while making more open swimming space helped very much.
