Hi Frank,

I can't personally give any advice, just say congratulations! This thread might be of help though
http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23238

It would seem the fry don't need any specific care, just good water quality, good food variety, and the usual parameters for the adults. If they're breeding you must be doing it right! :D
Good luck!

I have had several species of hillstreams breed and always did the same thing....I left the babies in with the adults. The adults will not eat the young and the young will graze around the tank and also feed on the same algae wafers and shrimp pellets that the adults do.
So relax and enjoy the young. They should be fine since conditions were favorable for the adults to spawn.

Hi jim and elka

Thanks so much for replying. Really helpful.

They're starting to grow pretty quick. Only snag will be just having 60L means they will have to be re-homed.

Will post some pictures when I can.

Thanks.

Frank

I agree with the others. ... just leave them in the tank.

To encourage more spawns and more fry, do small water changes every day or two (1-3 buckets, no more than 1/4th the water in the tank).

Also, you could feed very small amounts of feed, more frequently during the day (I do this on my tank with 2 automatic feeders). This will ensure that the parents and fry can graze on food in a more natural all day fashion.

There will be fry in the tank that you can't yet see, so I would also recommend against doing any gravel cleaning. I haven't gravel cleaned my tank ever, and I probaly have over 200 fry in the tank and they are absolutely flourishing alongside the adults.
5ft long rocky hillstream tank - Sewellia lineolata and spotted... and lots (and lots) of spotted fry
8ft Clown loach tank: 30+ clown loaches, 10+ Yoyos.
6ft tank for 16x botia kubotai, 13x Striata, 6x Sidthimunki - I need more sids
