Hello, first a proper introduction, i'm Aalsen and i live in the northern region of Holland. I'm a aquarium enthusiast for a couple of years now, and the kuhlii's have been with me from the start. There were some dreadful moment's, when i could catch the kuhlii's with my bare hands after poisoning them with new hoses from my external pump. But resilient as the are, they all survived, even scarface the giant kuhlii. I named him scarface because his entire body was scar ridden, when i bought him he was kept in the shop with a lobster, he jumped several shop aquariums. The scars are still barely visible, but he is by far the biggest kuhlii, about 12cm.

As you can see from the photo's, the female kuhlii's are bloated with eggs, in an extent they can't swim very well or are struggling to curl up. The thing is, my kuhlii's are fat, unusually large, and orange. I've bought a few other giant kuhlii's which look completely different, and after a year, don't grow even further. So im afraid i've got 2 species, but i would like to breed some. What are the ideal water parameters and other circumstances in order to make them lay eggs?

Yes, that looks like a P. myersi to me.
