Scientific name: Cobitis granoei (Rendahl, 1935 )

Common name: Northern Loach, Siberian Spiny Loach

Synonyms: Cobitis taenia granoei, Cobitis taenia sibirica, Cobitis granoei olivai

Distribution: Korea, China, Mongolia, Siberia

Sexual Dimorphism: Not known

Maximum size: 5 inches (13cm)

Similar to: Other Cobitis

Care: Lives in slow-moving waters over sandy substrates. The aquarium should aim to match these conditions with good filtration and some flow. Subdued lighting.

Feeding: Feeds on insects in wild. Will eat most proprietry aquarium foods, supplemented live and frozen foods.

Water parameters: pH: 7.0 - 7.7 Hardness: Medium Max dh: 12

Temperature: 64.4- 72ºF (18-22 °C)

Breeding: Not bred in aquaria

Notes: Lives in somewhat deeper waters than the other loaches in sandy places.

Jolly good work, Martin. The whole lot of them. Imagine if LOL had always had this kind of index!

Eh? I've been able to see them ever since I posted them. I always check after coding things to see if I made a mistake.

You've put mg into [/i] of the captions on his pictures??????? So now they're no longer italicized as they were the last time I saw them.

Sorry--they came up as little boxes with x's in them for me. ;-/ but I can see them now. must have been the machine. and I took my little 'mg's' out...

brain is on slow-mo today. :roll:

Probably a server hiccup. I've had that a few times while reviewing stuff as I'm doing it. Sometimes, hitting Refresh brings them up.
