What's up with this?

Post by shari2 » Thu Nov 02, 2006 11:11 am

Every time I do a water change on my river tank, within 20 minutes there are planaria squiching round in the water. The are visible for a few hours, then they disappear. The white clouds get some of them, but I know not all. So, why would this be happening?

Don't think I'm over feeding...are they in the sponge? It's really large and fairly large pores.
books. gotta love em!

I suppose they might hide in the sponge, but they could be anywhere in theory. I've only ever seen these once, and not in a River-Tank. They just dissapeared for no obvious reason.

It's possible that a slight change in water chemistry excites them in some way. Same way my Pangio anguillaris go bananas after every water-change. It must be a "wormy" thing

Martin.

Yup. I get this too. Planaria are harmless. They're delicious too.
