Clown with hook

Post by wasserscheu » Mon Nov 13, 2006 5:01 am

Hi,

My Alpha clown always showed a hook behind (inside) left rear fin.

now about 2 years old and 4.3"

What may that be?

... when the clown was very small and new I was wondering wether it was a parasite, but it is not meaty - stiff like fin-material , color is as orange as the fin-coloration, it was kind of growing with that fish... its more or less moving with the fin (but is not really part of it...) ´

I could not get a better picture, she/he did not show left side, where the hook is, so I made a drawing. I earlier thought it was an extension of the stubs that Emma recently posted, but the hook is located on the inside of the fin...

... sorry for poor quality of visualisation

Hi,

... I was initially thinking there is some relation to the stubs, that Emma shows in here recent pic´s. But the hook is inside the fins, between the fins so to say, the hook-shape is clearly visible from the side, but disappears behind the fin. The stubs are in front of the fin. If I get a chance I will post a picture, but chances are not very high (camera is not good, fish mostly stands against current,...). I already asked my daughter to draft a picture, she could do better much than me

Thanks

Wolfram
