Thanks Hels. I've just PM'd Mark Janssen about making a blank pdf that can have text added. That will make doing different versions far easier than how I'm doing it now.
There are serious limitations with the Photo program that I won't go into, but they make text awkward and space is a problem. The Dutch language version only just fit due to a lot of extra words being involved.

If Mark can produce an editable version it would be cool and no doubt the font might be easily made smaller, which means you can get more words in.

Martin.

German version

Post by wasserscheu » Mon Dec 11, 2006 9:04 am

Hi all,

here a German version (has been „corrected“ by my daughter, she is writing in the school-news…). It would be efficient, for metric countries if the scale (ruler) could be switched around…

please watch for the vowel/monophtlongs with the 2 dots on top, as well as for the weird “s”--> ß

In order to assist the team of NCIAC in central Europe I am thinking of following (however, all that may already be present in one form or another, … just ideas to collect and get together data and experience…I need to read Sully´s pages first more in detail ):

--- search for current activities in various countries

--- get geared up with local and national and further even European associations

--- find common format, or supportive “co-signatures”, of puplic recogniced voices.

--- long term vision, establish some international standard for procedures and linking international data-sources. Base may be LOL-profiles, those standards may then also be “signed of” by authors of various books… that roadmap, may be used for other fish. “SAE” or “DIN” for Loaches … I´m getting a little “squared away” here…

Currently that one book, I mentioned above, is used as such standart in German-speaking Europe, by most average fishfriends. I bought it recently for a 14year old boy, who is starting a 300liter tank (what does this forum go by US or Imperial gallon?). I will get details later on as I´m visiting my young friend today and will take pictures of the relevant pages, to further inform.
I have read voices about this issue in German forums, I need to find the entries again, and try to assist in “joining forces”…

… with the international timedifference, we can work around the clock… :?

I could try to print with Arobate Distiller…but you said you tried already...

Hi Martin,

Did you find the German version, above, ok? Regarding the book from Hans A. Baensch (Mergus), I´ve researched just a tiny little and found some voices claiming it a good book (also my opinion), but has a view mistakes (no wonder when dealing with so much data). I also found a posting, claiming that there is another edition (I guess special loach edition) possibly #6 which claims 3m as tank size for clowns. The new summarizing edition (all fish) bases the 1m tank on clown lenght of 16.cm (claiming: "... rarely grows above 16cm in a tank")

I read, that clown´s inner organs keep growing faster, than their body, due to small tank. Obviously that will bring them cruel death.
Are any Details available on that issue?

There is a lot awareness in german speaking forums re keeping clowns, I need to see if any activitoes are ongoing...

Yes thanks Wolfram. Sophie is presently working on a metric ruler version of the poster. It will become a blank that any language can be put on. Once she's finished it (she's very meticulous) I'll have German and Dutch versions.

I got a reply today from Italy and a site owner there is going to do an Italian translation for us.

You'll note by the sidebar she's very animal welfare conscious.

I'm calling in a return favour :)

not meticulous, just time-restricted when it comes to using the computer, and posting things bakcwards and forward between timezones for approval takes tiiiiiiiiiiime.

have to give the computer up to the small person for online pokemon now (it's a promise), but the German and Italian will be up later this evening. my time
