Leptobotia tientainensis photo's

Please find attached the tientainensis (or what I think are!) photo's as promised. These are the only two that the owner (John Huddlestone) has left out of a group of about 6. The largest one (which we initially thought was a female, but may have been a male with hindsight) had a very pale body, much paler than the 'male' shown here. Some are naturally pale, with the darker ridge across the top of the body with patches along it, some are much solider in colour/pattern on the body and have a much more humped nape.

Sorry for the poor images but my camera is getting a bit dated now, and I couldnt get them in the right lighting.

Thanks Steve, these are great. We can't always get portrait quality pictures of more obscure species, but these are much better quality than many that we have. I'll get them uploaded to the new site.

As a matter of interest, how large was the biggest one?

Steve was concerned about some of these pictures being too dark, so I've edited them all to some degree. They're actually good pics Steve.

My old Coolpix 885 is dated now though. Which one do you lot use and how much do they tend to cost?

The biggest of these two is about 9 or 10cm but the largest he had was about 12cm.

Well your pictures look excellent to me!

I'm currently using the Nikon Coolpix 8700, which I bought second-hand for around £400 after my old Coolpix 5700 went wrong (after many years use I must say).
