Post by brett_fishman » Wed Dec 20, 2006 3:19 pm

would it be ok if i fed my yoyos some pieces of ordinary garden earthworms? (cleaned and chopped, of course)

this is coming from the compost bin, no fertilizers.

Just be sure they haven`t been exposed to any pesticides or fertilizers. My Clowns and Dojos love them.

Brett don`t feed them too may or they might get constipated. Some frozen peas boiled and shelled will help if they can`t poo but i`m sure you remember that from AH.

You can try earthworm sticks from Ken's Fish:

http://www.kensfish.com/kenssticks.html

I feed them to my cories and the loaches love them too...

Very interesting, thanks. The prices seem pretty low, and a whole variety of things....

What else is good there?

Yeah, its some good stuff. Someone on another board told me about them. I have been using the earthworm sticks a lot and I also got some earthworm flakes. I will tell you this, you get what you pay for. I got the smallest bag I could to make sure my fish liked them and its a big bag. I got it in like 2 days too. I was very impressed. I havent really looked into anything else, but the next time I make an order, Im going to check into the other things.

If you are looking for good things to feed your loaches and/or fish, you might want to check into this:

http://www.corysrus.com/boyds.htm

Thats some good stuff right there. I know it says for corydoras, but I feed it to my loaches too.

My loaches love Wardley's slow sinking cichlid crumbles. I grabbed them one day in the store just to see if they would eat them.....and they loved them! Now I've moved them into the feeding regiment :D

All of my bottom dwellers love the cichlid crumbles too. They also love the pellets I got on www.aquabid.com sold by Unclerick. My fish go in a frenzie when I feed Rick`s pellets.
