I guessed 4 is nemacheilus fasciatus,

then I looked here:

http://www.loaches.com/species-index/ph ... 1.jpg/view

and wondered again.

sigh.

1 is definitely a diffrent loach to 2 and 3, she said didactically.

No. 4 could be Schistura nicholsi.

No 4: Schistura nicholsi..... My Loach>

Also remember that location variants happen. The same as posting pictures of juvenile loaches in different Tank environments.

Hi Jorge. After looking again, i think Number 1 is not Schistura waltoni as the Schistura waltoni have 8 dorsal rays and yours has 9. Back to the drawing board i thinks. :?

Your latest picture seems to look like a juvenile Schistura spilota. Here's a couple of pictures of my Schistura spilota in the new species index. >> http://www.loaches.com/species-index/schistura-spilota

Thanks Graeme. Both was imported together all mixed, the supposed spilota and the possible waltoni.

You say that can't be waltoni because has 9 rays? do you include the spine? It has 8 soft rays (last one branched) and one hard spine (1-8). The supposed spilota also is 1-8.

What species can be, then? :?:

Hi Jorge. Sorry it was late when i posted. Yes, S waltoni has 1-7 and your specimen has 1-8. I haven't had a chance to count the fin rays and branch rays on my S spilota unfortunately. :?
