Maidenhead praise and question (and hello everybody!)

Post by kes » Sun Jan 28, 2007 7:32 am

Hi.. this is my first post so hello everyone!

I came on here for some Loach info and discovered some of Emma's articles which were excellent.

I would just like to say I visited Maidenhead for the first time a week ago and was just mesmerised by the vast array of tanks and fish species.

The bloke that served me was absolutely brilliant and really helped me make the right choice considering my aquarium and the fish I already have. He really took time to give me info and when I eventually purchased three Botias he ensured he picked fantastic specimins with the colour variations i wanted... Which leads me onto this question:

I purchased a Histrionica and a Striata but I can't remember for the life of me the name of my third Loach! I think he is either a Lohachata or Kubotai judging by similar varieties on the net.. Can anyone help?

Hi kes, and welcome to Loaches Online. :D

I would say that the fish in the photo could be a Botia rostrata.

I'm really glad that you enjoyed your visit to the shop. Thank you for your great comments. :D

Heh, heh, heh....the eternal kubotai vs. rostrata debate. :) Any way to get a better side-on photo of him? Also, how big is he?

Nice pictures. Looks like a Botia rostrata and Botia Histrionica.
