New Roof?

We're currently going to get a new roof on our home and we're worried about the massive shaking of the house. We're worried that it's going to make our 125gal, 30 gal, and/or 10gal break. what should we do?

*they're ALL on the 2nd story of the house.

That's a pretty unique call for ideas... The tanks shouldn't break, but you might lower the water level a bit. Seal off rooms with tanks to avoid extra dust and stuff getting in the water. A new roof calls for lots of banging, but not so much shaking. You must keep us posted as it all happens!

are you getting a new roof
or are you getting just new shingles?

either way i would put 2 old sheets over the HOLE tank
even if it is covered

if your getting a new roof
meaning new plywood and shingles
i woudl keep an eye on the tanks while there working above them
i seen a couple guys fall through the sheetrock under the plywood
im a spackler by trade
and have fixed prolly 30 holes in celings (over 10 years) made durning new roof work
sometimes they fall through cuz the roof thats there sucks
i fell through my garage roof while reshingleing it

If they are removing shingles, they'll be hanging a drape over the front of the house (or the back) and there shouldn't be much of a problem. We had a new roof put on and had a couple of pieces of the plywood replaced at the same time. There was no shaking, just allot of scraping, hammering, banging and crashing noises. Nobody fell through...

If you had windows open I'd cover the tanks, but at this time of year (if it's cold by you) I wouldn't worry about it, myself.

Here's hoping hemi's experience isn't yours.
